A Roman Priest, by the name of Valentine, was imprisoned and later executed for his stance on marriage. Actually, encouraging soldiers to be married, contrary to the orders of Emperor Claudius. Meanwhile Valentine, as to be expected, was worried his family had forgotten him and so sent a message of his situation and closed “Remember Your Valentine”. It has morphed from St. Valentines Day into the mega-consumer invitation to buy something in conjunction with “happy valentines day”. An expanded version of the story is here

The morphing away from what we started either in our family, our business, our career, or goals can easily happen. Quite often it is outside influences, with no loyalty or sometimes investment to our original vision.
